The master's programs in Health Behavior and Health Education equip students for leadership positions as researchers and professionals across diverse fields. Graduates gain qualifications for careers in sectors including: academic institutions, K-12 education systems, community healthcare organizations, corporate environments, governmental bodies, and non-profit health organizations.
Health promotion integrates educational strategies with organizational, economic, and policy measures. These initiatives aim to foster behavioral modifications and environmental improvements that enhance community wellbeing. Health promotion research and implementation takes place in multiple environments including educational institutions, neighborhoods, workplaces, and medical facilities.
Health education initiatives target various age groups from early childhood through older adulthood. The curriculum additionally examines how health education research influences organizational structures and community systems. Coursework highlights an interdisciplinary, bio-behavioral, and developmental methodology for advancing health initiatives.
Students must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a comparable degree from a foreign academic institution. A grade point average of at least 3.00 in upper-division (junior- and senior-level) coursework and in any graduate work already completed.
The minimum scores considered acceptable for admission by the Graduate School are:
TOEFL: 79 on the Internet-based test (iBT)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
