The Educational Policy and Planning (EPP) program develops future leaders and analysts committed to transforming public education for the better. This Master's in Education program equips graduates for policy analysis careers, emphasizing anti-racist approaches, equity, and social justice. The curriculum covers policy theory, implementation strategies, evaluation techniques, educational law, poverty's impact on policy, and critical analysis. Graduates pursue careers in legislative bodies, research institutions, community organizations, advocacy groups, nonprofits, school systems, government agencies, or consulting firms.
This interdisciplinary master's degree combines theoretical knowledge with practical policy application. Students take foundational courses in policy analysis, implementation processes, research methodologies (both qualitative and quantitative), and specialized policy seminars.
Students must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a comparable degree from a foreign academic institution. A grade point average of at least 3.00 in upper-division (junior- and senior-level) coursework and in any graduate work already completed.
The minimum scores considered acceptable for admission by the Graduate School are:
TOEFL: 79 on the Internet-based test (iBT)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
