The Autism and Developmental Disabilities (A‚ÖÖ) specialization offers in-depth education in creating, applying, and assessing evidence-based approaches for individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental or physical disabilities, along with their families. Graduates gain qualifications for educational and clinical roles as instructors, behavioral specialists, and practitioners, serving diverse age groups, cultural backgrounds, and linguistic communities while integrating supportive technologies.
This program offers two completion pathways (M.Ed. or M.A.), featuring adaptable combinations of academic study, practical training, and hands-on intervention research. Additionally, the curriculum fulfills all educational prerequisites for certification by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB).
Enrolled students in the Autism and Developmental Disabilities M.Ed. program can choose between fully online or on-campus attendance. Classes are conducted synchronously, with virtual and in-person participants engaging together, ensuring equal access to top-tier instruction and faculty guidance for all learners.
Students must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a comparable degree from a foreign academic institution. A grade point average of at least 3.00 in upper-division (junior- and senior-level) coursework and in any graduate work already completed.
The minimum scores considered acceptable for admission by the Graduate School are:
TOEFL: 79 on the Internet-based test (iBT)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
