The flexibility of UT Austin's M.A. program allows you to create a graduate degree focused on your interests and goals with a diversity of study through the advertising courses and supporting course work. Most students complete this program in 21 months or less. Our M.A. program is a full-time, in-person, Monday through Friday curriculum.
The graduate internship required by the Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations is meant to enhance the classroom education with practical, applied experience in the real world. This course is only available to graduate level students who have met the prerequisites (consult with your academic advisor).
Students must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a comparable degree from a foreign academic institution. A grade point average of at least 3.00 in upper-division (junior- and senior-level) coursework and in any graduate work already completed.
The minimum scores considered acceptable for admission by the Graduate School are:
TOEFL: 79 on the Internet-based test (iBT)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
