Join a dynamic creative community at an art, design, and architecture school in Brooklyn while investigating how media transforms our understanding of culture, society, and politics. Merge theoretical analysis with hands-on skills to study media's role in power structures, social disparities, and multicultural perspectives worldwide.
By integrating critical frameworks with artistic approaches, our media studies curriculum helps you grasp how media shapes human perception and worldviews. We treat media not just as communication tools, but as active arenas where power relations, personal identities, and social differences are expressed, discussed, and transformed. Through our Graduate Program in Media Studies, you'll cultivate both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise—both in studio settings and beyond—to examine media's effects on racial, gender, sexual, and societal issues. With intimate class sizes, you'll collaborate directly with our accomplished faculty specializing in digital platforms, international communications, cinema, performing arts, and audio media.
