The School of Advertising & Public Relations equips students with the expertise to craft compelling messages across diverse media platforms, target the appropriate audiences, and evaluate campaign effectiveness. Beyond rigorous academic programs, we integrate hands-on learning opportunities, empowering students to emerge as future leaders in advertising and PR. Our curriculum opens doors to numerous career paths in the field, spanning creative artistry to strategic media planning in both traditional and digital spaces.
Graduate students at the Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations must complete an internship, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical industry experience. This requirement applies exclusively to graduate students who have fulfilled the necessary prerequisites (please confirm eligibility with your advisor).
The Ph.D. program involves advanced coursework in advertising along with complementary studies in three or more related disciplines. Doctoral candidates focus on three key elements: academic coursework, comprehensive examinations, and original research culminating in a dissertation. The balance between these components may vary based on each student's background and specialization. Annually, approximately 30 doctoral candidates participate in this program.
