The Master of Arts in Modern Languages, specializing in French or Spanish, is a 36-credit program aimed at advancing students' proficiency in either language while deepening their understanding of the literature and cultures of French- or Spanish-speaking regions. This program equips graduates for teaching careers or other professional roles requiring modern language expertise, while also fostering independent research skills for potential doctoral studies. The curriculum includes at least nine credits of core MODL classes plus 27 credits of French coursework, or alternatively, up to 12 credits of core MODL classes with 24 credits of French studies. This non-thesis French concentration concludes with a comprehensive examination covering course material and designated readings.
