The Electronic Packaging Certificate program delivers advanced graduate-level education focused on electronic packaging, emphasizing both numerical analysis and experimental assessment of thermomechanical challenges. Instruction is provided by faculty from Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering departments, supplemented by additional UT Arlington professors and adjunct instructors as required. Classroom learning is enriched through seminars led by industry experts in packaging technology. Graduates of this certificate program gain a competitive edge when entering the workforce, while industry professionals can upgrade their skills. Participants may enroll either as graduate degree candidates or as non-degree-seeking special students, with the latter option designed for working professionals in electronics-related fields. To earn the certificate, students must complete 12 credit hours of approved packaging courses under faculty guidance while maintaining a 3.0 GPA across these four courses. The program must be completed within a six-year timeframe.
Applicants on a degree track must be admitted to the Master’s degree program. Non-degree students must have a BS degree and a minimum GPA of 2.5.
