The Bachelor of Social Work program equips graduates for diverse entry-level roles in social services across multiple sectors including education, healthcare, nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, rehabilitation centers, HR departments, immigration services, end-of-life care, senior living facilities, diversity initiatives, disability services, advocacy organizations, and military/veteran support.
The curriculum covers theories of human behavior, strategies for tackling societal issues, and methods for promoting social equity while building cultural awareness to assist individuals, families, and groups effectively.
Qualified BSW candidates who meet CSWE accreditation requirements for advanced standing may apply credits toward a Master of Social Work degree.
The 120-credit program includes an 18-hour field internship, 36 hours of core social work courses, and 24 hours of elective studies, enabling many participants to pursue a minor specialization.

Qualification Requirements

Students must have completed official secondary school transcripts, diplomas, certificates and/or national test examination scores as appropriate for the educational systems in their country. In order to be considered for freshman admission students must have completed secondary school studies equivalent to that of United States high school graduation.
Official SAT I or ACT scores are required for entering freshmen with less than 24 semester hours of university level course work (equivalent to one year of full time study).
 

The minimum acceptable score on the TOEFL is 79 on the Internet-based test, 550 on the paper-based test and 213 on the computer-based test. The IELTS can be substituted for TOEFL scores. The minimum acceptable overall score of 6.5 is required for admission. Scores must be sent directly to UT Arlington from the Testing Service to be considered official.
