The master's program focuses on cultivating professional expertise in geography while providing options to specialize in specific concentrations or key methodologies. Students with strong foundations in mathematics and computer science can pursue a Geographic Information Science (GIS) track. Our faculty supports diverse academic approaches, from historical, qualitative, and social theory perspectives to quantitative, computational, and geospatial methods. The department excels in guiding graduate research across three core areas: natural environment geography (including biogeography, climatology, and geomorphology), spatial analysis (encompassing location studies, environmental modeling, and GIS), and human geography (covering economic, urban, transportation, population, and cultural studies).
