The College of Graduate Health Sciences provides a 16-month, 35-credit Master of Science program in Biomedical Sciences, specializing in Laboratory Research and Management. This program aims to equip students with advanced technical, managerial, and administrative expertise needed for roles as Senior Research Assistants or Lab Managers across academic, government, and private biotech research settings. The three-term curriculum focuses on four key areas: Basic Science - Students will enhance their biological knowledge through graduate-level coursework in biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology, essential for working in research laboratories. Technical - Training covers both theoretical foundations and hands-on laboratory techniques, including molecular biology methods, animal research protocols, statistical analysis, bioinformatics, scientific communication, graphic design, and equipment maintenance. Administrative - The program includes certification and instruction in safety compliance (radiation, biohazards, animal/human tissue handling), research ethics, personnel management, conflict resolution, inventory control, and financial oversight for laboratories. Practical - Students apply their learning through a 6-month research internship in a laboratory setting.
