The Graduate Certificate in Advanced Manufacturing is provided through the Mechanical Engineering department. Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in an engineering field with a minimum 3.00 GPA. While students from other academic backgrounds may apply, they might need to complete foundational courses as outlined in the Graduate Catalog. Ideal preparation includes mathematics (through calculus and differential equations), mechanics of materials, thermal dynamics, and materials science. Participants can pursue the certificate independently or as part of an MS or PhD program. This certification equips learners to: Apply understanding of traditional manufacturing methods, their advantages, and limitations to facilitate the integration of cutting-edge manufacturing solutions. Utilize knowledge of material mechanics to influence product characteristics and production feasibility across both conventional and innovative manufacturing processes. Graduates will have completed specialized coursework in selected areas within the expansive domain of advanced manufacturing technologies.
