The Department of Psychology at the University of Tennessee boasts the institution's most extensive undergraduate and doctoral programs, earning nationwide acclaim for its exceptional research, distinguished faculty, and outstanding students. Our department supports roughly 110 graduate students across three specialized tracks: an Experimental Psychology program focusing on Cognitive and Developmental Science, Social Psychology, and Neuroscience and Behavior, along with two prestigious applied doctoral programs in Clinical and Counseling Psychology. With over 900 undergraduate psychology majors, we confer nearly 500 bachelor's degrees each year - accounting for about 25% of all undergraduate degrees awarded by the College of Arts and Sciences. United by a passion for intellectual exploration, our faculty and students champion academic freedom, public engagement, constructive discourse, and community service. We maintain a collaborative atmosphere that nurtures professional growth, fosters education, and advances psychological science while upholding mutual respect and support for all members of our academic community.
