This program exposes students to diverse aspects of the animal industry. Participants can focus their studies on livestock, equine, or companion animal care, as well as animal science and related fields. Learning occurs through both classroom education and practical training at the UT Martin Teaching Farm/Demonstration Complex, supplemented by visits to commercial operations, ranches, agribusinesses, and processing plants. Students may enhance their specialization through optional internships and cooperative education programs, building professional connections while gaining targeted expertise. The curriculum includes units on beef cattle, swine, small ruminants, poultry, and horses, enabling those pursuing animal science careers to master contemporary production techniques.
