The Department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures enhances language skills while promoting analytical thinking through the study of literature, film, and linguistics, offering insightful viewpoints on diverse cultures and societies, including our own. Faculty and student achievements in research, instruction, and community involvement create a strong platform for rewarding careers as knowledgeable, active global citizens. Undergraduate students can pursue a B.A. in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures, specializing in French, German, Italian, Russian, or Spanish. Additionally, a Language and World Business concentration is offered for these languages along with Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Portuguese. Hebrew and Persian courses are also available.
