The Department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures enhances language skills while cultivating analytical abilities through the study of literature, film, and linguistics, providing insightful viewpoints on diverse cultures and societies, including our own. Faculty and student achievements in research, education, and community involvement create a strong platform for promising career paths as knowledgeable, active global citizens. Undergraduate students can pursue a B.A. in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures with specializations in French, German, Italian, Russian, or Spanish. Additionally, a Language and World Business track is offered for these languages along with Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Portuguese. Hebrew and Persian language courses are also available.
