In today's technology-driven industries and consumer goods, few products do not fall into the Mechatronics category. Mechatronic systems and devices generally execute mechanical functions guided by digital controllers using programmed software. Examples include robots, automated equipment, vehicles, aircraft, communication tools, chemical and food processing machinery, and household appliances. The highly automated manufacturing sector of the 21st century has generated significant demand for engineers and technologists who possess not only fundamental engineering knowledge but also expertise in systems integration, project management, technical communication, device networking, procurement, supply chain management, and industrial safety. Graduates of UTC's Mechatronics program will be well-prepared to take on roles as process engineers, plant managers, design engineers, maintenance supervisors, sales engineers, and project managers within automation-focused sectors such as automotive manufacturing, food and chemical processing facilities, automation solution providers, industrial controls firms, and aviation industries.
