The Bachelor of Science in psychology is designed for students focusing on biologically-oriented psychology fields such as neuroscience, neuropsychology, or medically-related disciplines, as well as graduate programs requiring substantial natural science and math preparation (including cognitive science, biopsychology, genetic counseling, psychiatry, and certain clinical psychology specialties). Students cannot obtain both a B.S. and B.A. in Psychology simultaneously.
All psychology students complete core foundation courses (17 credit hours) covering the discipline's history and breadth. The program requires 20 credits from key emphasis areas like cognitive, social, clinical, organizational, developmental, and biopsychology, plus 8 additional psychology credits.
