Students will grasp the significance and function of real estate within both local and national economic systems. They will learn to recognize the primary factors influencing real estate markets. Learners will develop skills to evaluate property investment cash flows and make informed decisions using net present value or internal rate of return calculations. The curriculum will enable students to examine mortgage agreements from multiple viewpoints - as borrowers, lenders, and investors. Participants will comprehend the fundamental choices between debt and equity financing in property investments. Additionally, they will acquire knowledge about securitization fundamentals and gain the ability to assess basic mortgage-backed security transactions.
International freshman applicants must be high school graduates (students that have the equivalent of a diploma in the United States).
English proficiency is measured through the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A score of at least 550 on the paper based exam or 77 on the internet based TOEFL is required. USC also accepts the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the PTE Academic Test. Students must score at least a 6.5 on the IELTS, or at least a 53 on the PTE.
