Students will showcase how different academic fields and careers enhance community health. They'll learn to apply diverse public health data across various situations. Learners will grasp how socio-behavioral sciences impact health determinants and prevention, analyze cultural influences on public health, and describe behavioral approaches to population health improvement. They'll comprehend how physical and natural sciences relate to public health challenges. Students will examine personal and collective responsibility, including ethics and civic duty in population health contexts. They'll employ appropriate technologies, research methods, and communication techniques to access public health information. Learners will develop critical thinking abilities to assess, integrate, and judge information for effective public health decision-making and problem-solving.
International freshman applicants must be high school graduates (students that have the equivalent of a diploma in the United States).
English proficiency is measured through the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A score of at least 550 on the paper based exam or 77 on the internet based TOEFL is required. USC also accepts the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the PTE Academic Test. Students must score at least a 6.5 on the IELTS, or at least a 53 on the PTE.
