The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology offers education in psychological principles and their practical applications. Students gain hands-on experience with the scientific method by participating in research projects and clinical training at our distinguished facilities, concentrating on key areas like child and family psychology, cognitive neuroscience, multicultural studies, behavioral neuroscience, educational psychology, and health promotion.
Our curriculum allows for focused study and personal growth, enabling students to pursue specialized interests aligned with their career aspirations. Unlike the Bachelor of Science program, the Bachelor of Arts emphasizes humanities coursework while maintaining a strong grounding in psychological science. Both degree paths require completion of a cognate or minor.
A psychology degree establishes essential skills for careers in human services, administration, counseling, academic support, criminal justice, and legal fields. With guidance from our committed faculty and advisors, graduates will be equipped for advanced study in both applied professions and research-focused disciplines such as cognitive neuroscience or quantitative psychology.
International freshman applicants must be high school graduates (students that have the equivalent of a diploma in the United States).
English proficiency is measured through the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A score of at least 550 on the paper based exam or 77 on the internet based TOEFL is required. USC also accepts the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the PTE Academic Test. Students must score at least a 6.5 on the IELTS, or at least a 53 on the PTE.
