The Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies equips students to tackle intricate ecological issues by drawing insights from diverse social and scientific fields. This program teaches learners to assess environmental concerns and craft equitable, sustainable solutions that balance societal and economic demands with scientific and technical expertise. Through an interdisciplinary, cooperative framework, students can blend studies in sustainability, anthropology, political science, geography, history, economics, business, media arts, and journalism to design personalized academic paths.
Graduates emerge ready for careers spanning sustainable corporate strategies to environmental advocacy and data-driven policy development. The program cultivates robust analytical and communication abilities, preparing students for advanced academic pursuits or diverse professional opportunities in environmental regulation, conservation efforts, resource stewardship, and sustainability across corporate, nonprofit, and government sectors.
International freshman applicants must be high school graduates (students that have the equivalent of a diploma in the United States).
English proficiency is measured through the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A score of at least 550 on the paper based exam or 77 on the internet based TOEFL is required. USC also accepts the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the PTE Academic Test. Students must score at least a 6.5 on the IELTS, or at least a 53 on the PTE.
