Environmental science explores Earth's living and nonliving systems and humanity's role in influencing them. You'll discover strategies for driving behavioral change to address environmental and sustainability challenges, with a focus on natural science principles.
ENVS students can select between a BS in Environmental Science, concentrating on natural sciences, or a BA in Environmental Studies, emphasizing social sciences and humanities. Both programs offer a robust, interdisciplinary foundation in environmental and societal dimensions of our evolving planet, equipping graduates for diverse career paths. Two key elements of the ENVS curriculum help students make informed career decisions and develop practical problem-solving skills. The Applied Experience requires at least 80 hours of environmental or sustainability-related work through internships, research, volunteering, or employment with organizations like private firms, nonprofits, universities, or government agencies. This component aims to give students real-world exposure to environmental work, helping them build valuable skills and explore professional opportunities.
