The William B. Burnsed, Jr. Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Biomedical Engineering is dedicated to delivering excellent education for undergraduate and graduate students, while advancing and sharing innovations in mechanical, aerospace, and biomedical engineering. Mechanical Engineers focus on designing and creating machines and systems for motion and energy conversion, spanning from tiny sensors and actuators to massive power plants, car engines, and industrial equipment.
Mechanical Engineers are innovators. They contribute to automotive, aerospace, and marine sectors by devising safer and more effective methods for transporting people and goods. They pioneer energy systems that produce power with lower carbon emissions and craft medical devices that enhance health and longevity. Mechanical Engineering is an exciting and motivating career path.
Mechanical Engineers are adaptable problem-solvers. They create and construct devices and systems of various scales, from nanoparticles used in drug delivery and disease treatment to advanced ocean exploration ships. They work on developing renewable energy sources and designing more efficient and secure vehicles for terrestrial, maritime, and aerial use. Mechanical Engineers tackle challenges to enhance quality of life.
Applicants must have completed a secondary schools with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5. English Proficiency Requirement: Minimum IELTS: 5.5, Minimum TOEFL: 61, Minimum Pearson Academic: 44, Minimum iTEP: 3.6, Minimum Duolingo: 95.
