The Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science program equips students with academic knowledge, hands-on lab training, and clinical internships for careers in exercise science while preparing them for advanced studies in allied health, applied kinesiology, and exercise science research. This curriculum enhances understanding and builds competencies in fitness promotion, strength training, and managing chronic conditions through prevention and rehabilitation. Participants may opt for supervised internships in clinical or corporate environments. Graduates qualify for professional certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
The University of South Alabama's Exercise Science Program holds distinction as an NSCA Education Recognition Program (ERP), acknowledging its excellence in strength and conditioning education within accredited institutions.
Applicants must have completed a secondary schools with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5. English Proficiency Requirement: Minimum IELTS: 5.5, Minimum TOEFL: 61, Minimum Pearson Academic: 44, Minimum iTEP: 3.6, Minimum Duolingo: 95.
