The Catholic Educational Leadership (CEL) master's program equips graduates to take on leadership positions in Catholic education with confidence and competence. Grounded in contemporary research and proven methodologies, the curriculum enables students to navigate today's political and social landscape while emphasizing the core principles of Catholic education. Through courses provided by the CEL program and its partnership with the McGrath Institute for Jesuit Catholic Education (MIJCE), participants gain specialized training tailored to those aspiring to support Catholic educational institutions. The program offers customization through adaptable Teaching Weekend Schedules and Summer Sessions, along with choices between an MA with Administrative Credential or a Catholic Educational Leadership Advanced Studies Certificate.
Graduates will develop skills to articulate Catholic education's vision, mission, and values to diverse stakeholders, including academic researchers. They will assess modern research in Catholic education and undertake inquiry-based projects that embody transformative leadership, with a dedication to liberation, equity, and inclusion. By integrating Gospel principles into their research approaches, students will showcase an understanding of Catholic social teachings and justice advocacy within their theoretical perspectives.
