The department offers a Master of Science in Geosciences program focused on hands-on research participation. Students in the MS program generally complete their coursework in the initial year and dedicate their second year to thesis research.
Current EESC undergraduates may qualify for the accelerated 3+2 master's program, allowing them to extend their senior thesis work under faculty guidance. Graduate-level courses taken during their fourth year, beyond bachelor's degree requirements, can count toward the master's program.

Three letters of recommendation. Note that if possible, the letters should also specifically address the applicant's writing ability.

Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores. (recommended, but not required)
An English proficiency exam is required for international students. Students can complete the English Proficiency requirement by taking/reporting scores from a TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo exam.*
