Graduates from our Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) program excel in their careers. They're establishing themselves at organizations of all sizes, spanning various industries such as Bose, Google, Apple, IBM, Siemens, GM, Microsoft, Intel, Verizon, Amazon, and federal agencies. Those pursuing academic paths secure teaching or research roles in both corporate and academic settings.
The doctoral program mandates 90 graduate credit hours, with 60 credits completed post-master's degree. During their initial year, PhD candidates must complete and pass 24 credits of advanced ECE coursework. This includes four specialized courses within their focus area and a minimum of two ECE graduate courses from different specializations.
All PhD candidates must fulfill teaching assistant responsibilities as part of their academic journey. This teaching component enhances students' mastery of their field while offering crucial professional development, making it an essential element of doctoral education. The ECE department requires participation in two semesters of TA duties.
