The Barry Florescue Undergraduate Business Program at the University of Rochester fosters a dynamic, close community of educators, staff, scholars, and students. This program arms future entrepreneurial and innovative leaders with essential analytical skills for achievement. By combining challenging coursework, extracurricular activities, and practical learning experiences designed by the faculty who instruct our MBA and MS programs, students establish a strong grounding in quantitative and applied economics principles—readying them for tomorrow's business landscape.
Earning a BS in business demands four additional courses to specialize in a chosen track. This path is ideal if you wish to explore a business field more intensively.
The BS program suits students seeking deeper expertise in a specific business area. Participants may formally select just one BS Business concentration (accounting, business analytics, finance, entrepreneurship, information systems, or marketing). Accounting track students will explore various accounting domains such as financial accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, and auditing. Graduates of this track qualify to take New York State's CPA exam. However, securing CPA licensure requires further education, which students can pursue through Simon Business School's 41 MS in Accountancy Program. Those completing the 4+1 program can pursue careers in auditing, public accounting, corporate accounting, taxation, forensic accounting, government accounting, internal auditing, and related accounting fields.
