The department provides both Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees in brain and cognitive sciences. The brain and cognitive sciences (BCS) program enables undergraduate students to explore mental processes and their outcomes, covering areas such as:
Perception, Action, Thinking, Language, Learning, Memory.
This challenging yet approachable scientific field combines cognitive psychology, computer science, and neuroscience to investigate how the mind and brain function.
Students can pursue either a BA or BS in brain and cognitive sciences, with both programs following a shared core curriculum that blends biological, behavioral, and computational perspectives on perception, language, cognition, learning, and development. While the degree requirements largely overlap, the BS program mandates supplementary coursework in subjects like biology, mathematics, linguistics, and computer science beyond the BCS department.
The BS degree offers a comprehensive natural science foundation, equipping graduates for advanced studies in brain and cognitive sciences or allied disciplines such as cognitive science, cognitive neuroscience, and computational modeling.
