The University of Rochester's Mathematics Department focuses on research while dedicated to training future mathematicians, scientists, and engineers for prosperous careers across various fields.
Undergraduate offerings feature a combined BA in mathematics and statistics, mathematics minor, actuarial studies certification, mathematical modeling certification for political science and economics, plus a collaborative master's program with the Warner School of Education.
Our undergraduate curriculum is designed to equip aspiring mathematicians, engineers, and scientists with the skills needed for thriving careers in industry, academia, and commerce. Mathematics and Philosophy departments have streamlined the process for math majors to pursue a philosophy minor. Students can earn this minor by taking just three extra courses through designated allied field classes or cross-listed Math/Philosophy courses.
