The Industrial Engineering graduate program equips engineers to become tomorrow's research pioneers and technical experts. The program fosters deep professional dedication. Our Master of Science in Industrial Engineering offers exceptional flexibility, demanding at least 30 graduate credits, with both thesis and non-thesis pathways available. Additionally, we provide an accelerated dual MSIE-MBA degree program through collaboration with Katz Graduate School of Business, achievable within two years.

Qualification Requirements
LETTERS OF REFERENCE: Applicants must have at least two reference letters submitted electronically as part of the on-line admissions application process.
INTERVIEWS: It is recommended that PhD applicants have an interview with a faculty member, however, this is not a requirement for admission.
TRANSCRIPTS: Applicants are required to upload academic records from each academic institution(undergraduate and/or graduate) attended. Official, original academic credentials that are issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation. These will be considered unofficial copies.
GRE SCORES: GRE scores are optional only for applicants to the part-time Master's program who have an undergraduate degree from an accredited U.S. university. In all other cases, they are required. All international applicants whose first language is not English must take either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) administered by the Educational Testing Service with a minimum score of 550 (paper-based test)/213 (computer-based test)/80 (internet-based test), the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam with a minimum Band of 6.5 (taking the academic writing and reading modules of the test) The minimum grade point average for admission to any graduate study at the University of Pittsburgh is 3.0
