The Master of Science in Design: Advanced Architectural Design (MSD-AAD) is a three-semester program (fall, spring, and fall) designed for graduates with a five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree who wish to enhance, expand, or specialize their architectural education. This design-focused curriculum enables students to craft personalized study paths by selecting from diverse advanced design studios and elective courses. The MSD-AAD program has four primary objectives: First, to equip students for advanced design research in professional or academic settings, addressing current challenges in architecture. Second, to cultivate expertise in cutting-edge design tools and interdisciplinary approaches. Third, to critically examine theoretical aspects of contemporary architectural discussions surrounding these tools. Fourth, to incorporate sophisticated digital modeling methods into a design approach that directly influences material innovation, production techniques, fabrication processes, construction methods, and their aesthetic outcomes.
Candidates for admission to the Advanced Architectural Design degree require successful completion of a five-year Bachelor of Architecture professional degree from a national or international institution.
To be admitted without conditions, most departments require applicants to obtain a TOEFL score of 100 (internet-based) or higher, a PTE Academic score of 68 or higher, or an IELTS band score of 7.0 or higher.
