Our NAAB-accredited, STEM-designated program emphasizes design while adopting a distinctive approach compared to traditional architecture schools. We uncover design innovation possibilities within today's urban landscape, real estate and construction sectors, historic preservation efforts, policy discussions, urgent societal issues, and environmental challenges. Essentially, our curriculum embodies practical yet transformative thinking. This philosophy positions architects at the forefront of shaping tomorrow's built environment and urban spaces. The Master of Architecture program benefits from our exceptional faculty and prime Boston location, using the entire metro region as an interactive learning environment while addressing worldwide concerns. Beyond design studios, students explore architectural history, theory, and strategic design through seminars, with elective options in real estate, sustainable construction, and urban planning. They can also cross-register in other Northeastern departments, tapping into the university's diverse academic strengths. Graduates emerge with a powerful combination of technical knowledge, theoretical understanding, and strategic skills to drive meaningful change in the field.
An accelerated one-year option exists for Northeastern BS in Architecture graduates. Qualified candidates with a professional Bachelor of Architecture degree from an accredited North American institution and at least one year of IDP-recognized work experience may also qualify.
