The CSE master's program is designed for students aiming to significantly enhance their expertise and capabilities in one or more CSE disciplines. Earning this degree requires a modest time commitment but opens doors to better career prospects and substantially increased earning potential. Our chip design and architecture research brings together a diverse team examining theoretical, practical, and implementation aspects of silicon chip development, computer system structures, and emerging computing technologies that could potentially supplant conventional CMOS transistors. This research area focuses on developing cutting-edge design solutions, incorporating CAD algorithms, digital verification methods, post-silicon validation, and hardware acceleration approaches. Our VLSI design investigations cover numerous subjects, blending hands-on research with prototype testing and visionary concepts. Key areas of current exploration involve energy-efficient design strategies, manufacturability optimization, interconnect-focused design approaches, clock distribution networks, nanometer-scale mixed-signal circuits, and physical design automation tools.
