To obtain both degrees, students must fulfill the individual requirements of each program. For the JD degree, Law students need to complete at least 89 credits, with 55 being advanced credits during their second and third years. Joint program participants can count twelve semester hours (four courses)1 from their MPH studies during 2L and 3L toward this requirement, lowering their upper-level credit need to 43. Additionally, students must meet the Law School's pro bono obligation through the Public Service Program and complete senior writing and professional responsibility mandates (detailed information is available in the Law Student Guide to Policy and Procedures).
