The MCP/JD is a collaborative degree initiative offered by both the Law School and the School of Design. This dual-degree program prepares future leaders to integrate legal expertise with urban and regional planning perspectives. Spanning four years plus an additional summer of planning fieldwork, the program requires separate applications to each school following their distinct admission procedures. The MCP foundational curriculum equips all planning students with essential competencies, reflecting our innovative, hands-on methodology for training urban planners. Graduates of the core program will grasp the legal and historical foundations of urban planning, analyze community data using diverse demographic and economic tools, and comprehend global urban and metropolitan configurations. Crucially, they'll develop the discernment to apply the most effective planning strategies in various situations and environments.

Qualification Requirements
Applicants who have attended international institutions must upload transcripts or certified attestations of study. If these documents are not written in English, certified English translations are required. Once translated, the original transcript as well as the certified translation should be scanned into one file and uploaded to the online application.
Candidates admitted to the Weitzman School may be required to successfully complete an English Language Program prior to matriculation. To be admitted without conditions, most departments require applicants to obtain a TOEFL score of 100 (internet-based) or higher, a PTE Academic score of 68 or higher, or an IELTS band score of 7.0 or higher.
