Since 1985, The Wharton School has provided MBA and undergraduate students with a real estate major. This program has significantly expanded in both scale and breadth over time. Students complete two mandatory credit units along with three elective courses. Core classes concentrate on real estate development and finance, while electives enable exploration of diverse real estate topics. These encompass real estate economics, urban fiscal policy, legal aspects of real estate, housing market dynamics, the interplay between government policies and private development, and global real estate markets. The major equips students with leadership capabilities for the real estate sector, offering both quantitative and qualitative skills essential for influencing the industry's future. To ensure students stay updated on contemporary real estate matters, the Real Estate Department and Samuel Zell & Robert Lurie Real Estate Center organize conferences, seminars, and specialized programs addressing critical public policy issues in the field.
