Since 1985, The Wharton School has provided MBA and undergraduate students with a real estate major. This program has expanded significantly in both scale and breadth. Students complete two mandatory credit units along with three elective courses. Core classes concentrate on real estate development and finance, while electives enable exploration of diverse real estate topics. These encompass real estate economics, urban fiscal policies, property law, housing markets, the interplay between government regulations and private development, and global real estate markets. The major equips students with leadership skills for the real estate sector, offering both quantitative and qualitative training essential for influencing the industry's trajectory. To maintain student awareness of contemporary real estate matters, the Real Estate Department and Samuel Zell & Robert Lurie Real Estate Center organize conferences, seminars, and specialized programs addressing critical policy issues in the field.
