The DScD program equips students for thriving careers in academic dentistry as either clinical or basic science researchers. By leveraging the School's research and clinical expertise, the program brings together faculty mentors from various clinical and basic science departments. To foster interdisciplinary research opportunities, students can collaborate not just with Penn Dental Medicine researchers, but also with faculty from Penn's Engineering and Applied Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, and Veterinary Medicine schools.
Students who have completed clinical specialty training at an accredited institution are eligible to apply for the Doctor of Science in Dentistry (DScD) program without certificate.
There is no minimum TOEFL score, serious consideration will be given to applicants with Internet-based test (IBT) scores of 90 and above.
