Penn Nursing merges the vast resources of a major university with the close-knit community feel of a smaller college. Our standard four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program welcomes high school graduates directly. Here, you'll be taught by dedicated faculty members with globally acclaimed expertise. Experience Ivy League academics alongside an enriching campus experience. Gain hands-on training at premier hospitals located minutes from your classes. Participate in cutting-edge faculty research projects with access to advanced technology. Penn Nursing alumni are pioneers transforming healthcare through practice, policy, research, and education. The nursing curriculum launches in your first year, blending science, nursing, and liberal arts studies, with opportunities to explore courses across Penn's four undergraduate schools. Clinical rotations start during sophomore spring, offering exposure to diverse healthcare environments including primary care, emergency medicine, women's health, and psychiatric care across all age groups.
International applicant should have completed a program of secondary education that would enable you to enter a university in your own country (e.g., A-levels, Abitur).
A strong command of the English language is necessary for successful study at Penn. Applicants whose families do not speak English at home, or applicants who have not attended a high school or secondary school where the primary language of instruction is English, are asked to take the TOEFL, the Test of English as a Foreign Language, administered by the Educational Testing Service. In the event the TOEFL is not readily accessible, Penn will accept results from the IELTS, the International English Language Testing System.
