The Rajendra and Neera Singh Program in Networked and Social Systems Engineering (NETS) stands as the globe's pioneering academic program that comprehensively combines the disciplines essential for designing and examining the intricate networks transforming our world. This curriculum equips students to influence the technologies behind internet search, e-commerce, financial systems, social media platforms, and critical infrastructures like power grids. Alumni will gain the expertise to develop networks that serve both consumers and stakeholders effectively. Some may also emerge as the crucial policymakers required to oversee these systems, safeguarding intellectual assets and promoting public welfare.

A strong command of the English language is necessary for successful study at Penn. Applicants whose families do not speak English at home, or applicants who have not attended a high school or secondary school where the primary language of instruction is English, are asked to take the TOEFL, the Test of English as a Foreign Language, administered by the Educational Testing Service. In the event the TOEFL is not readily accessible, Penn will accept results from the IELTS, the International English Language Testing System.
