The Health and Societies (HSOC) program explores health and medicine through a societal lens, providing students with analytical tools and interdisciplinary expertise for careers in public health, healthcare services, and diverse professional fields. Grounded in three foundational disciplines—anthropology, history, and sociology—the curriculum incorporates approaches from epidemiology, political science, business/economics, legal studies, environmental science, and bioethics. This multidisciplinary framework enables students to understand the complex factors influencing modern healthcare systems. HSOC graduates emerge as versatile thinkers, proficient in multiple social science methodologies—theoretically grounded yet solution-oriented, with both international awareness and hands-on community engagement.
