The Department of Theatre Arts aims to recruit graduate students passionate about both theatrical practice and theoretical exploration. We look for individuals who create theater driven by intellectual curiosity about its significance and mechanisms. Our students possess an insatiable appetite for understanding theatrical techniques while delving into the art form's historical context, objectives, and potential. Ideal candidates are those brimming with inquiries rather than certainties, finding genuine delight in the creative journey - whether through academic research or practical production - as they explore meaning within theatrical scholarship and performance.
Our Master of Fine Arts program serves as the highest academic credential for aspiring theater professionals and educators. Students can pursue intensive three-year specializations in scenic design, costume design, lighting design, or combinations of two these disciplines.
