Civil engineers play a vital role in creating and maintaining our community's infrastructure, including structures like buildings, roads, bridges, public transportation networks, water control systems, and urban water treatment facilities. Often described as the profession that serves humanity, civil engineering makes modern life possible.
The School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science provides diverse and engaging academic programs.

Architectural engineering professionals focus on creating buildings and structures that go beyond aesthetic appeal. Their designs must ensure structural integrity, incorporate efficient mechanical systems, and remain cost-effective to build. Architectural engineers balance all these critical elements in their projects.
As one of the earliest engineering fields, civil engineering traces its origins to the 18th century. These professionals not only design and build essential infrastructure but also oversee its operation and maintenance. Environmental engineers apply scientific principles to address pressing ecological issues, developing solutions for water purification, air quality improvement, waste processing, recycling initiatives, and sustainable water resource management.
