The OU Master of Public Administration (MPA) program aims to provide students with the expertise and abilities needed to navigate evolving public service landscapes and address challenges collectively across government and nonprofit organizations. We fulfill this purpose by: delivering a comprehensive curriculum that respects Oklahoma's diverse viewpoints, equipping graduates with leadership and analytical capabilities for their communities, producing valuable public service insights through rigorous research, and actively involving our community in educational, research, and service initiatives.
The MPA serves as the premier graduate qualification for public service careers, opening doors to diverse opportunities in federal, tribal, state, and local governments, as well as nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and private enterprises.

Graduates emerge with comprehensive knowledge of governmental structures, stakeholders, and operations. This professional program focuses on mastering the principles, methods, and practices essential for managing public affairs, combining academic theory with real-world application while fostering expanded intellectual and professional outlooks.
Housed within the Department of Political Science, part of the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences, the MPA program benefits from the OU Graduate College's oversight in maintaining academic standards and enhancing all facets of graduate education. Together, these entities collaborate to support and enrich each MPA student's educational journey.
