This certification program offers specialized training for educators working with students who have sensory impairments (including blindness/visual impairment or deafness/hearing loss). Participants will explore targeted coursework covering specialized programs, family collaboration, and adaptive teaching techniques to better understand how to assist students with distinct sensory learning requirements. Courses are available online throughout the school year. Note: The Graduate Certificate in Sensory Disabilities does not authorize recipients to obtain Nebraska teaching endorsements in Deaf Education or Visual Impairments. Those seeking endorsements in these areas must complete supplementary coursework and should reach out to Dr. Savaiano or Dr. Thomas for guidance.
