The University of Oklahoma's Anthropology Department features a comprehensive Master's program in biological anthropology, along with a specialized Ph.D. in Anthropology concentrating on Human Health and Biology. This Human Health and Biology pathway serves as an interdisciplinary Biological and Medical Anthropology doctoral program, examining the evolutionary patterns, adaptive strategies, and behavioral characteristics of both ancient human ancestors and modern communities. Faculty expertise and the biological anthropology curriculum primarily cover genetic/molecular anthropology, medical anthropology, paleopathology, population studies, human-animal relationships, and biocultural adaptation studies.

Qualification Requirements

The Anthropology department welcomes applications from students with bachelor's degrees in any field. However, we encourage applicants to gain exposure to all of the subfields of anthropology.
Applicants must submit a transcript from the college or university where they earned their most recent degree in order to be considered for admission. For example, if you have both a bachelor's and a master's degree, you must provide a copy of the transcript from your master's degree. If you are currently in a degree program and will earn that degree before the semester you are applying for, you must submit a transcript from your current institution.
Scoring 79 or higher on the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT).
Scoring 6.5 or higher on the IELTS.
