The University of Oklahoma provides Master's and Doctoral programs in Meteorology. Students pursuing these advanced degrees benefit from graduate teaching (GTA) and research assistantships (GRA) funded by the School and affiliated institutions. They have the opportunity to collaborate with advisors across diverse research fields. A distinctive feature of our program is the partnership with National Weather Center organizations, enabling students to secure GRA positions with research scientists from NOAA, CIMMS, and similar institutions who also serve as adjunct faculty. Full-time faculty members also mentor Meteorology graduate students based on available funding. Most students complete their Master's degree before either entering the workforce or continuing to Ph.D. studies, though qualified candidates may transition directly to the Ph.D. program during their second year of Master's coursework.
