The University of Oklahoma's School of Visual Arts provides a distinctive Ph.D. program featuring four specialized tracks: Native American Art History, Western American Art, European Art Studies, and Contemporary Art Theory. As Oklahoma's most extensive art institution, it stands alone in offering doctoral studies in art history. Prospective graduate students must apply to the University of Oklahoma Graduate School to be considered for the graduate program.
